General Rules and Policies
Dance Shoes and Attire:
Wear comfortable, tidy clothing that allows movement and appropriate dance shoes. Ask your instructor about footwear before purchasing, and explore our selected shoes and accessories. Please be mindful of personal hygiene and avoid strong fragrances in partner classes.
Refund Policy & Expiration dates:
We understand that life can be unpredictable sometimes but as a business we need to plan ahead for the time of the dance instructors and other staff. Therefore, Imperial Ballroom Dance Center doesn’t provide any refunds under any circumstances. All services have an expiration date. All expiration dates are final. All prices are subject to change.
Cancellation & Rescheduling:
We work very hard to accommodate our students’ schedules while making sure our dance instructors have a balanced schedule as well. For all cancellations and rescheduling of private lessons, we require a 24-hour notice by phone or e-mail. If we receive your voicemail or e-mail a response will be sent back confirming change or cancellation. This is done to avoid you being charged for the full amount of the lesson.
GROUP DANCE CLASSES
Classes are a group activity.
Book a trial lesson before joining any group class. Kids classes are for ages 4–6; Youth classes are for ages 7–13. Follow your instructor’s routine and the duration listed in the current schedule: Kids Learning Bears classes last 30 minutes; scheduled Youth and Adult Beginner classes last 45 minutes.
Group classes must be completed within the designated period. Expiration dates are final, with no carry-overs. Students arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be admitted.
Appropriate groups are complimentary for Kids and Youth taking consistent private lessons, and for Adults taking private lessons consistently each week. Confirm your class placement with the studio.
Instructors and substitute instructors:
The same instructor cannot be guaranteed for the duration of the entire group class package.
Group Class Dance Levels:
Your Imperial instructor will recommend an appropriate level based on your experience and readiness. Please obtain instructor approval before moving to a more advanced class. Schedules may change with participation and studio events; check the class schedule before attending.
